A Bunch of Daisies is a crime thriller centred on Daisy Carroway, whose best friend Genna Davies apparently vanishes beside a canal, leaving behind her bag and phone. When the police dismiss the case as a voluntary disappearance or drowning, Daisy refuses to accept their explanation and begins investigating herself.
Her search uncovers evidence that Genna had discovered a money-laundering operation involving their law firm, senior solicitor Wallace Croft, and Genna’s own mother, Hazel. A corrupt detective, Fleming, helps suppress the truth, while a wine-red car repeatedly appears as Daisy is followed and threatened. With help from Sally and Marcus, Daisy finds diaries, financial records, recordings and a hidden USB drive linking the conspirators to offshore accounts and violence.
The central twist is that Genna is alive: she staged her disappearance to escape the criminals and protect the evidence. Daisy reunites with her in Manchester, but their pursuers close in. As witnesses die and the police prepare to frame Daisy, she and her allies must preserve the evidence, expose the conspiracy and survive long enough to bring the truth into the open.
At heart, the plot is about friendship, persistence and ordinary courage confronting institutional corruption and carefully maintained lies.
